Research statement Ahmad Reza Mehdipour

The primary field of research in the group of Ahmad Reza Mehdipour is to study the molecular aspects of protein complexes. We try to understand the molecular mechanisms underpinning the biological processes in which protein complexes are involved, including conformational dynamics, protein-protein interaction, protein-ligand interaction, and protein-lipid interaction. Furthermore, we try to use the information obtained from the biological processes in the design of new drugs, both small molecules and protein-like drugs. To achieve these goals, we use a wide range of computational methods such as molecular dynamics simulations (conventional and advanced methods), molecular docking, and multiscale and integrative modeling. The projects are mostly performed in tight collaboration with our experimental colleagues to validate our findings.
