Prof. Patrick W. Fowler, FRS, from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom has been awarded the International Francqui Professor Chair. In this context and as co-promoting institute, we are happy to announce his lecture at Ghent University on May 23, 2024. His lecture will focus on chemistry and aromaticity. Furthermore, we also showcase result directly related to his field of research on molecular interactions with magnetic fields, aromaticity and spectroscopy.
During this afternoon, not only Patrick Fowler will present his insights but also other UGent colleagues as well as colleagues from Antwerp university who work on Vibrational Circular Dichroism where Patrick Fowler also published important work.
We specifically invite co-workers with different degree of experience to allow all to interact with Patrick, so we focus on discussion. As Patrick also spends significant amount of time in Ghent, we also encourage all members of UGent (and others) to meet up with him in his office to maximally benefit from his expertise.
